Why to Comission?

Portraying is undoubtedly a great and interesting challenge …
In this challenge I look for realism. The focal point and most important element in my portrait paintings are the eyes and the history they can show with a simple expression … without words!

Why to Comission a Portrait??

  • A Photography does not have the same effect as an oil or pastel portrait.
  • A Portrait can accompany you for life, as you grow, mature and age..
  • A painting is a different, unique and original gift.
  • A Portrait painting is a present that your friends and beloved will never forget
  • Besides the artwork itself, the portrait brings memories of a special moment, that moment when you decided to give that special present.

TO PAINT PEOPLE OR ANIMAL PORTRAITS, IN PASTEL OR OIL PAINTING TECHNIQUE, IS A GREAT PLEASURE FOR ME!!

How a Portrait is done?

Assuming the portrait is not done alive, but based on a photography, the first step is to have a good resolution photo of the person or pet.
Especially in the case of pets, to get a good picture, is not easy. It takes a lot of patience and time.
Here you can see several photos taken to a pet “Pimpinhas” and the end result, a Soft Pastel Painting.

In the case of “Pimpinhas”, the job was very easy. This puppy is very calm, polite and very photogenic … Any of the photos would have result in a good portrait. However, its owner chose the third frame to commission the portrait of her beloved pet.
